Frequently asked questions
What Pathvia does, how pricing works and what happens after you get in touch.
What does Pathvia actually do?
Pathvia provides and coordinates technology, connectivity, compliance and practical business services through one central point of contact.
Do I need to know which service I need?
No. Tell us what you are trying to achieve or what problem you have and we can help identify the right solution.
Do you only provide IT support?
No. IT is one part of Pathvia. Services also include secure document destruction, connectivity, security technology, workplace services, office solutions and other business support.
Do you work with small businesses?
Yes. Small and medium businesses are exactly who Pathvia is built for, including sole operators and community organisations.
Where is Pathvia based?
Port Macquarie, NSW. We work across the Mid North Coast, and remote services are available more broadly.
Can Pathvia help with something not listed on the website?
Ask. If it is not something we deliver directly, we can often source, coordinate or recommend an appropriate solution.
How do I get a price?
Send through what you need using the request form, or call 1800 849 710. We will confirm scope and quote before any work starts.

Questions about a specific service
IT & Technology
Do you charge a call out fee?
Pricing depends on the type of work and whether it can be handled remotely. Tell us the problem and we will quote before we start.
Can you help after hours?
Weekend and after hours assistance can be arranged. Ongoing arrangements can be set up for businesses that need a known contact outside normal hours.
Do we need an ongoing contract?
No. You can call when you need something, or set up a regular arrangement if you would rather have a fixed monthly cost.
Internet & Connectivity
How quickly can temporary internet be arranged?
It depends on the site and the option that suits it. Tell us the address and the date you need to be running and we will tell you what is realistic.
Can you take over dealing with the provider?
Yes. Coordinating with carriers and providers on your behalf is part of what we do.
Do we have to buy the equipment?
No. Temporary connections are set up as a rental. We install it, you use it for as long as you need it, and we collect it afterwards.
Do you handle phone systems as well?
Yes. Business telephony and VoIP can be set up alongside the internet service so it all lands together.
Security & Site Technology
Can you install cameras on a site with no power or internet?
Yes. Solar and mobile connected camera options are made for exactly that situation, including short term hire style arrangements for temporary sites.
Is regulated security work licensed?
Yes. Regulated work is performed under the appropriate licence or coordinated with a licensed provider where required.
Can we view the cameras from a phone?
Remote viewing is normally part of the setup. We will confirm what is possible for the system that suits your site.
Secure Document Destruction
Do we get a Certificate of Destruction?
Yes. A Certificate of Destruction is issued for the collection so you have a record for your own compliance file.
Can we book a single clean out rather than an ongoing service?
Yes. One off collections and archive box destruction can be booked without any ongoing commitment.
Do staples and paper clips need to be removed?
No. Staples, paper clips and lever arch files are fine. The bin label lists what does and does not belong, and anything other than paper is the short version.
We already have a shredding provider. Can you quote against it?
Yes. Send through a current invoice and ask about the price beat offer.
What happens to the paper afterwards?
It is baled and recycled into new office paper and washroom products rather than sent to landfill. Destroying the records and recovering the material are the same process.
Compliance & Workplace Services
How often does test and tag need to be done?
It depends on the equipment and the environment it is used in. Tell us what you have and where it is used and we will confirm the interval that applies.
Can you cover multiple sites?
Yes. Multiple sites and properties can be scheduled together so everything falls due at the same time.
Will you remind us when things are due?
Yes. Scheduling and reminders are part of the service so the next round does not creep up on you.
Do you produce evacuation diagrams?
Yes. Site specific evacuation diagrams and emergency procedures documentation, prepared with reference to AS 3745 Planning for emergencies in facilities, and reviewed when the site or floor plan changes.
First Aid & Workplace Training
Do we get a nationally recognised certificate?
Yes. HLTAID011 and HLTAID009 are nationally recognised units of competency. Pathvia trainers deliver the training under partnership with a Registered Training Organisation, and the RTO issues the Statement of Attainment on successful completion.
How often does first aid training need to be renewed?
The model Code of Practice for first aid in the workplace recommends CPR is refreshed every 12 months and the first aid qualification renewed every three years. Your own policy, insurer or funding body may set a shorter interval.
Can you train our whole team at our site?
Yes. Training runs at a location of your choice and can be scheduled around a roster, including outside standard hours by arrangement.
Do you deliver medication administration and manual handling?
Yes, as workplace training rather than a nationally recognised unit. It is built around the setting it is being delivered into, including NDIS and disability support teams.
Are the trainers qualified?
Yes. Pathvia trainers hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. For nationally recognised units they deliver under partnership with a Registered Training Organisation, which is what allows the Statement of Attainment to be issued.
What if someone misses the day?
Tell us and we will work out whether they join the next group session or are picked up separately. Nobody should be left with a lapsed certificate because of one roster clash.
Office & Business Solutions
Can you manage the whole move?
We can coordinate the technology, connectivity and equipment side and work alongside your removalist, builder or landlord.
How far ahead should we get in touch?
As early as you can. Connectivity and cabling usually have the longest lead times, so knowing the open date early makes everything else easier.
AI for Business
Is this just training people to use ChatGPT?
No. Training is part of it, but the useful work is usually deciding which few tasks are worth doing this way, setting those up with your own material, and agreeing what staff are allowed to put in. Tool training on its own tends not to stick.
Can we use AI with client or participant information?
Not in a general consumer tool. Which information can go where depends on the tool, how it handles data and your own obligations, and the responsibility stays with your business. We help you work out where the line sits and put it in writing so staff are not guessing.
Do our staff need to be technical?
No. Sessions are built around the work people already do, using examples from your own business rather than generic demonstrations.
Who runs the training?
Pathvia’s director is a Microsoft and Google Accredited Trainer with a background in education and information and communication technology, so sessions are built by someone who teaches for a living rather than someone reading a vendor deck.
Will this replace our staff?
That is not what we are selling. The realistic result is less time on repetitive admin and drafting, which gives people back time for the work that actually needs a person.
How quickly do the tools change?
Quickly. Any recommendation is for what is available now, so it is worth revisiting rather than setting once and forgetting. Short refreshers are usually more useful than one long course.
Transport & Logistics
How much does it cost?
It depends on distance, time and what is being moved. Send through the details and we will quote it.
Is it available at short notice?
Sometimes. Availability depends on the day, so it is worth asking.
Digital & Business Services
Do you build websites for small businesses?
Yes. Tell us what the site needs to do and who it is for and we will scope it from there.
Can you take over an existing website or domain?
Usually yes. We will need access details or the current provider so we can work out the cleanest way to transfer it.
Question not answered here?
Ask it directly. You will get a straight answer, including when the answer is that we are not the right people for the job.
